Workflow reporting

Andy,
Use the WAPIs for this - make sure you use a task filter.

E.g. Search for all work items relating to a particular object (based on
your PCR business object type and notification number for instance).

Look for a line for the workflow (WS..) to get the start date, and the
approval task (TS..).

Use the wapi to get the work item header - this will give you start
date, action date, actual agent, and also confirm which work item
belongs to which workflow instance (i.e. what was the top/parent
instance).

Alexis,

Some of the reports that have been requested from workflow are how much
time has passed between the time the form was submitted and the time
that the actual form has been approved? Is there a way to pull a report
that reflects how many forms are waiting for approval in a specific
approver's workflow inbox? How many forms has a specific approver
rejected, approved, sent back to applicant? The only information we can
currently extract is "at what point of the approval process is the form
at". We use SWI6 to figure this out, but for this we need to know the
person who submitted the form or the date it was submitted. I would
like to use the same functionality as SWI6 with the date functionality,
but instead of just receiving name of forms and dates I would also like
to include the user name of the person who submitted. Does this make
sense?

Thanks again for your input

Hi Andy,

We're also implementing the PCRs through MSS. Unfortunately, SAP does
not deliver a good way to report on HR notifications. What we have done
is customized the workflow to save the notification number, scenario,
and other relevant information in a custom infotype. We then built a
custom report based on this infotype. Using the notification number,
you can call function ISR_SPECIAL_DATA_GET to pull back all the relevant
information from the PCR form.

The big problem is reporting on the PCR's current position in the
workflow. Unfortunately, the notification number doesn't help too much
in this regard. If you know the approximate date and time it was
created and by whom, you can use SWI1, however our HR users were
nonplussed (to say the least) about this tool. So, I'm in the process
of incorporating some of this information into the report as well, ie,
who's inbox is the PCR in, etc.

Hope this helps,

Alexis

Subject: Workflow reporting

Hello Abby,

I would like to get some more information regarding workflow reporting.
My name is Andy Escanuela and I am the HRIS manager at Safety-Kleen
systems in Dallas Texas. We just went live with Manager's Self Service
in 03/05 and are currently looking to run some reports for workflow
administration. The only transactions I have been told to utilize are
swi2_freq and swi2_dura. The problem is that the reporting fields look
like jibberish to me. I am looking to report on notification numbers
out of SAP Portal (i.e. - Notification number, submiteed by, name of
PCR, etc.) I was wondering if you had any experience on reporting for
HR workflow?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance.
