Send email

Hi all,

my customer own a 4.7 SAP version. 

I want to create a task for my workflow who will send directly emails. I
found on sdn.sap.com a Weblog for send email from ABAP :
https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/wlg/789 

but the author talk about WAS and i don't have this. 

Now with these data, please, can you tell me which are the components has to
install to send emails ? SAP Exchange, SAP Connect, or... ?
