workitem text shows variable name instead of value

Hi,

Sometimes, I have this problem wherein my work item text shows the variable 
name instead of it's value when it comes in SBWP. What is the reason for 
that? How do I make it show the value only everytime it comes as a work item 
in my inbox. My workflow is triggered through SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT. Could 
it be some shortcoming of this FM? Thanks for the help in advance.
