EQUI.Created Event

Can you use a system or user status?  I believe when you create the equipment record some system status is automatically set.  So I think you can create a status-event linkage in BSVZ?

Is there any way to create the event EQUI.Created other than using a BADI or User Exit? The standard r/3 is not doing this. And there is no change document written on creation.
