Status of the Task [In Process] not changing.

Hi,

I am implementing the workflow (single step) in SAP CRM.The step is basically to change the status of an activity in background.It is working fine in SAP WINGUI, but it is not working in PC-UI(People Centric User Interface).When we execute this workflow , the status of the step is always in 'In Process'.Please let me know if anyone has encountered this kind of situation.
