Event Deactivated - Trouble Shooting Problems

Folks,
Very Strongly recommend:
 
Behaviour Upon Error Feedback in SWEQADM = "Mark linkage as having errors" in QA/PROD, and "Do not change linkage" in DEV (for the sake of convenience only)
 
Please DO NOT use Do not change linkage in QA/PROD in transaction SWEQADM - as this then applies to ALL workflows.
 
Remember that in QA/PROD you need to include SWEQADM in your daily workflow monitoring - the front tab shows you if you have any errors, the Linkages in error tab is where you resolve and redeliver them, and then click the traffic light icon to restore the event linkage to no errors.
 
The problem with using "Do not change linkage" in production is that all of those missed event linkages do not get redelivered automatically, and it takes longer to realise a problem has happened - particularly in the 1 in a 100 scenario described.
 
Also if you have a serious ongoing problem with your workflow then the system is spinning its wheels trying to unsuccessfully start the workflow and that's a drag on system performance.
 
Better to include SWEQADM in your workflow health checks.

May not solve the root of your problem but have you thought about changing the "Behaviour Upon Error Feedback" on your event linkage in SWETYPV/SWEINST?
 
You could then select 'Do not change linkage' and you would prevent the deactivation.
 
Alternatively if you have the 'system presetting' option this default setting can be maintained in SWEQADM on the Basic Data tab.

I have a continuing problem in our production system for a custom event on ZBUS2001 for BUS2001 (Project Definition) with a single step task where every once in a while e.g. 1 out of every 100 instances, the event gets deactivated due to an error.
 
When I look in SWEL the only difference I can see between one that was successfull and one that failed, is that in the one that failed, there is no receiver ID.
 
Has anyone got any suggestions of what the problem could be, or is the receiver Id missing a red herring ?
