display documents

Hello,
 
once again my question because i got no response.
 
Is there any possibility to display a document from an external
fileserver
(not in the SAP-System and no SAP-archive)? I will creat a workitem that
shows the user a scanned document so he can see what is on the document. I
tried it with the activity 'document from template' but i failed. There is
a standard
task to creat a document. I copied it and changed the method into
'display' but nothing happens.
 
Anyone of you an idea who to display a document?
