e-mail notification to substitute

Hi Phil,

Even if you send the Workflow to the Position the RSWUWFML2 does not =
send
the notification to the A210 substitute. This behaviour comes fro the =
fact
that the program is using function RH_WI_AGENTS_GET which seems to =
always
return a list of user id (US). And it is from the result of this =
function
(table user_tab) that the program looks for substitutes...

Thanks,

Serge

Objet=A0: Re: e-mail notification to substitute

The nature of the A210 relationship is important and is considers the
target of the workitem.

If the workitem is sent to user XYZ, then a substitution on position is =
not
relevant. Such workitems are considered PRIVATE.

Send the workitem to the position, then see what happens.

The A210 relationships should be from S-> P or US.

The (S) being the key here.
If the original workitem was NOT sent to (S) but the current holder (P) =
or
(US), then the system should correctly not pass the workitem on.
It is deemed private, and not position related matter.
If the workitem was sent to (S) position xyz, then the A210 relationhips
should work.

Hence why, when planning workflows, if you can, you should aim for the
target to be a position, not a user. Org Structure maturity etc,
play a role is planning your overall approach.
The overall approach to substitution, is then part of this design.

If you must use users(US) , as the receiving agent on workitems,
then you must also use the HRUS_D2 substitutions.
You can always create both substitution types in parallel ;-)

Cheers

Subject: e-mail notification to substitute

Hi All,

We are using the RSWUWFML2 (in 4.6C) program to notify user that they =
have
something in there workflow inbox. Everything works fine for the agent
assign to the task but when it comes to the substitute, he does not get =
any
e-mail? I have looked at the limitations and it says that the program =
does
not support passive substitution. So I've checked it and it is an active
substitution.

Can someone tell me if they have the same problem? We are using the A210
relationship to create the substitution not the table HRUS_D2.

After doing some verifications inside the program, it looks like it =
would
never work with A210 relationships because it is base on a Position to
Position (S-S) relationship and the program is looking for substitute on =
a
User base (US).

I have looked in OSS and nothing found for this specific problem. I =
think
this should be an OSS issue, don't you think?
