Mail including work items without agent

Hi
 
I schedule a periodic background job to send the report from SWI2_ADM1 to a
specific user via transaction SM36 - button "Spool list recipient" but
nothing is ever sent.
 
If I run the report in foreground and choose List - Send to - mail recipient
it works ok.
 
I think the problem is that the report initially is an ALV grid.
 
Any help would be appreciated.
