Replicating R3 Acting Assignments into SRM-EBP 4.0

Hi Jerry,
Just by the by - usual practice here is to use the EBP org structure for inheriting attributes only.

If we need to work out the approver using backend rules we call the backend system via RFC - e.g. using
RH_GET_ACTORS to run the appropriate workflow agent rule. You can always use eval path SAP_TAGT to resolve the agents found back to their user ids. So long as the user ids are the same in both systems, this works pretty well.

Saves a lot of grief trying to force your org structure to serve two masters - attributes and reporting hierarchy.

I put an example in the book on this, i.e. calling a rule from another system.
Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn,

Thank you for the response.

The person responsible for loading/managing the Organization structure and
user assignments is going to work with some local SAP consultants. It turns
out that the current practice of allowing R3 job sharing and acting
assignments do not map cleanly into the EBP organization structure.

Thanks again,
Jerry Martinek

Hi Jerry,
Re signing authority - no idea what is technically meant by the signing
authority in R/3. Can you clarify?

Re job sharing - it's not. The org plan has other complexities but not
that. If you want to do something like that take a look at the "Shop on
Behalf Of" feature which lets both the creator and the requestor view and
act on the shopping cart. Jocelyn

Hi,

Can anyone please explain how R3 position acting assignments are
reflected/implemented in EBP?

In R3, if you temporarily assign a non management person to a 'management'
position that has a financial signing authority, that non management person
would then inherit that positions signing authority.

How would this be reflected on the EBP organization structure for both the
non management and the management persons.

Also, how is the concept of R3 'Job' sharing implemented in EBP?

Thanks,
Jerry Martinek
