Deadline Monitoring / Escallation for Single Step Tasks

Hello All,
 
We are on a 4.7 system implementing workflow for Time Sheet Approvals.
The current requirements call for deadline monitoring and escalation of
work items. =20
 
The (CATS) data entry profile customizing for Time Sheets restricts the
workflow task type to a standard task (TS) or=20
task (T). =20
 
Is there any built in functionality that will handle deadline
monitoring/escalation for single step tasks? =20
 
Ideally, I would like to expand the original selected agents list to
include deadline agents when the deadline is reached. =20
