Getting attachments from the Container

All,
        We are having our users here use the confirm end of task to
attach notes to work items when they are done. Later in the workflow I
would like to use the text of the note they are attaching but I can not
find where to get the actual text of the notes in the container. I have
looked in the attach_objects item but can not see what element contains
the text. Has anyone done this so they could shed some light on this?
