Workflow Start Event from ABAP Objects instead of BOR Event

Hi David,
You should look under Media Library -> System Documentation.
However the abap objects paper was done some time ago.

The other place to look is at help.sap.com in the new Netweaver release 04 documentation
as this contains the help for using ABAP Object Classes in workflow. This help assumes
you already know ABAP OO.

Also look at include programs <cntn02> and <cntn03>
and ABAP Object Interface IF_WORKFLOW

I couldn't find the white paper. I've had difficulty in the past finding things, so maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I found the following under service.sap.com\workflow and then navigating to Media Library -> Literature, which is where it states the white papers are stored:

A Beginner's Guide to Workflow and Webflow
ASUG Newsletter 1/1999
B.Braun: Erhebliche Einsparungen durch WebFlow
Connecting Mail-Clients to R/3 using MAPI
Cookbook: WebFore form step
How SAP Business Workflow offers active support for Continuo
MIT opts for SAP Business Workflow and E-commerce
SAP Managing e-Business Processes with WebFlow
SAP's implementation of first public available workflow stand
Streamlining Processes with Business Workflow
Using Forms in SAP Business Workflow
Using Workflow in HR and Self Service Applications
WebFlow Book

Is there another place to look?

Also, this prompts a related question that's been simmering waiting for me to get around to cleaning up some extraneous entries we have in SWETYPV. Is there documentation anywhere explaining receivers other than workflow tasks/templates (and now ABAP objects)? For example we have the following link active and nobody knows why:

Object Type Event Rec. Type
BUS2012 CHANGED SUBSCRIBE

In addition to several 'SUBSCRIBE' receivers and the usual tasks/templates, I see entries for STATUS_ERROR, STATUS_OK, DISTRIBUTION, DOKST, HAEFNER, etc. Many of the 'SUBSCRIBE' entries are active; none of the other types (besides WF objects) are. Any clues?

Thanks,
David

It's available. Watch out for release restrictions.
Check your BC support packs are up to date.
See the workflow upgrade note 152871.
General approach at the moment is to use it for utilities.
There's a whitepaper on service.sap.com alias workflow
or better still look at the latest help on help.sap.com.

I noticed in an 6.20 System the other day that the event linkage table
(transaction SWETYPV) allowed the specification of the type of event "ABAP
Object" or "BOR" to be expected by the subscriber.

Has anyone already experience with event subscription using ABAP objects
event ?

or is this as of yet an SAP internal feature?

Nathan
