Active Version of WF template is not working at runtime instead last runtime is getting triggered

Hi Fellas,
 
i have a strange situation at hand ....some changes were done in Wf
template in Development client and a new version was generated and
activated.
the respective transport is moved to QA where i can see the new version =
and
the applied changes.....but when i test the Workflow by triggering =
through
the business application the new steps do not appear in WF Tech. log and
the desired functions are not performed  where as in Dev. client i can =
see
the new steps in Wf Tech log and everything is working fine..
 
i guess the previous runtime version is getting triggered instead of =
latest
version.....
 
has anybody faced a similar scenario................suggestions are
welcome....
 
its really urgent to fix it before coming monday...
