Deleting WF items from Outbox

You can't just delete the WF from just the Out box. If you delete it is gone! 
 
What it sounds like is a "user" just does not want to see it in the outbox. 
(For whatever reason) 
 
Suggest you need to educate the user on how to set the filters. 
User can filter out whatever they don't want to see.

First find out the Workitem id or date range so that you could uniquely
differentiate these items before you delete. Then use tcode SWWL to
delete workflow items. This transaction will completely delete from
workflow header table.
