performance issues and the RTCADM user

FYI while in theory you can replace the standard background workflow user WF-BATCH with any user id name you like, in practice I would *** VERY STRONGLY *** advise against it. Every site I have seen do this has introduced far more problems than they have solved. Let alone the unnecessary confusion caused to every workflow consultant who are all expecting to see WF-BATCH.
Much the same deal for giving WF-BATCH anything less than SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW.
Otherwise known as "just asking for trouble..."

Sheldon, It looks like your workflow background user has been named RTCADM in place of WF-BATCH. Can that be ?

Subject: performance issues and the RTCADM user

Hi Fellow WF'ers,

We're on 4.5B at the moment and are having a wierd performance issue with one of
our systems. We are consistently seeing a lot of long tasks being performed by
the RTCADM user (program SAPLSWWF) on the SWW_CONTAB table. I don't get back
too much from SM50 - is there any way I can trace back further to a specific
workflow (as we have many running on that system)? We do not have a similar
issue on any other production systems with the same solution.

Has anyone else experienced this in the past?

Thanks,
Sheldon Skidmore
