SUBMIT in an object

I've never had any success using submit and return in an object. It would
always cause the workflow to hang. I have, however, coded a function module
using the job_open, job_submit with immediate start and job_close function
modules which worked fine.

Koenraad,

I don't know if it's good practice or not advisable, but the approach we
used is modelling a deadline on the
step that uses the object with the submit statement. If the step doesn't end
within the specified timeframe the
workflow continues with the next step.
