Notification processing workflows

Hi all,
Has anyone worked with notifications on 4.7? Is it really as simple as it looks
or am I missing something obvious? I'm working with an HR consultant who has
already set up a couple of the standard ones for Personnel Change Requests.
Workflow runs as they want out the box (WS50000041).
 
Now they're setting up some custom notifications with different infotypes,
field catalogs and screens - but with the same process, and are asking me to do
the workflow bits. The WF is based on the notification object rather than any
of the underlying application data, and screens/fields and even the web bits
are defined elsewhere; it almost seems as if I don't have anything to do, which
somehow seems too easy.
 
Can someone please set my suspicious mind at ease that I'm not I missing a huge
obvious chunk somewhere....?????
