AW: Portals and Workflow

The launch handler is used to launch web services etc. Previously you needed to either customise this in 6.2 or install the 'Xhandler' service on the portal if you were using 4.6c. However, the newest version of the UWL (make sure you get the newest version from iViewstudio.com) seems to combine the the Xhandler functionality within it, instead you use the override.xml file to point your webservice based tasks in the right direction.

So, in answer to your question:

The UWL will work with 4.6c

If you go on OSS and find the notes relating to MSS there are some quite good examples of the configuration you need to do (look for the recent updates which talk about the override.xml file) also look at the help for the UWL service on iViewStudio.

Hope this helps,

Mark

We downloaded UWL50_5_1 this morning and upgraded in our current Dev. Enterprise Portal 5.0. However at the end of the process we couldn't preview the UWL. The error message is " Launch Handler not found". Then we found in the documentation that we need to run tcode "WF_Handcust" in SAP6.2. That was like a big hammer hit on my hand. Our R3 is in 4.6c version. Do we need to be in Web Application Server 6.2 or better before we use UWL?

I never saw in any document mentioned about this requirement. Please advise.

Thanks.
