HELP! Event Trigger

I published interface 00001050 to trigger the BKPF.Create Event, which is
working great.  I can see the container, etc.  My URGENT problem is that
when I kick off my workflow, and attempt to use the container contents in
my custom task, the container is empty.  The task is successful, but it's
not doing anything.
Any help is appreciated.  I've never published an event trigger before.  I
did copy an SAP std. program to do it though.
