Missed deadline...can we send notification when missed deadline occurs

Dear All,
Good day,
 
I have two queries regarding Missed deadline.
 
1) When missed deadline occurs(using Latest end date), a missed deadline mail gets escalated to superior. Alongwith this, our client wishes to send a notification to the person who missed this deadline. How can we do this?
 
2) I am using Requested end date for reminder which is half the deadline set for the work item. Now in this mail, the first two words of subject line contain "Missed deadline" followed by actual work item subject line.
Can we change "Missed deadline" with some other texts.
If yes, how?
