You were exactly right! This is the cause of the problem. Thank you, Bill
Gates!

I found "Internet Explorer Q813489" in the Add/Remove Programs of both my
desktop (Win2K) and laptop (WinXP). Removed entry and now both PCs display
correctly in the Business Workplace. Did not need to re-install IE.

I would consider this an interim solution and hope someone can point to a
Microsoft or SAP note which permanently fixes this condition. I have been
researching both sites since Jim's e-mail and cannot find any Note which
addresses this problem in plain language.

Thanks for your valuable assistance,

PS: Also thanks to this group for having a means to quickly resolve issues
and problems. I am still waiting to initially hear from my HelpDesk on my
PRIORITY request.

Les,

We experienced a similar problem beginning last week. It appears to be
related to a recent Internet Explorer update from Microsoft. Here is an
excerpt from a note we sent out to our user population providing an
interim solution:

====================================================================
It appears that the cumulative patch for Internet Explorer # 813489 that
was made available
late last week impacts R/3 with regard to the screen presentations of
the workflow/In-Box approval process. The end user will see a screen
that is blank/white that previously displayed approval information. By
basically trial and error we have discovered the following:

1. The issue above only applies to end users who apply windows updates -
those who have not applied windows updates do not encounter the issue.

2. For windows 2000 and windows XP, we have basically reinstalled or
downloaded internet explorer from the Microsoft home page and this
appears to fix the problem.

3. For windows 98 - the downloading of internet explorer from the
Microsoft home page does not appear to work. This morning through the
means of windows - control panel - Add or remove windows components, I
remove the windows update 813489 and rebooted a PC with windows 98. This
appears to have corrected the problem.

==========================================================
Hope this helps,

I have had a strange occurrence recently on desktop (Win2K) and my
laptop (WinXP). Neither PC will display certain segments of the Business
Workplace, for example, the Preview Pane and the Work Item Complete
confirmation. When I log onto someone else's PC, there is no problem.

The most recent changes have been to add/run Ad-Aware and Spybot to
check and remove ads and spyware from the PCs, but I don't see how these
could effect the SAP GUI. What else is likely to have caused this
condition? I am accessing the 4.6C version with the 610 client on both
PCs.
