Cancelling WF by creating an event

Hi everyone,
I have to implement a WF, which could be stopped by creating an event by a
program in some cases decided by a clerk.
Creating the WF is no problem. I have created a parallel part in the
WF-Definition, one part to handle all "normal" steps, the other one is
waiting for the event.
When creating the event, nothing happens.
The event container and also the event key is the same as when starting
the WF.
Any ideas?
