Hi Jocelyn.

This was exactly the problem and solution. Thanks a lot!

Claus.

Hi Claus/Soeren/Heinz,=20
Please check in your technical workflow log - what user id is being =
used to
create the work item, and therefore to evaluate the role? It sounds to =
me
like you have a security issue rather than a role performance issue - I =
come
across this a lot in HR where HR structural authorisations prevent =
users
having sufficient access for the role to be resolved. But once you =
restart
with a different userid that does have access or add steps to swap to =
the
workflow system user at this point all is sweet.=20

Remember that workflow will keep using the previous user id as long as =
it
can in case the next step has to be done by the same person.=20

So if it is a security issue, add an empty background method step just
before the step with the offending role to make sure you are evaluating =
the
role using WF-BATCH which has SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW. Regards, Jocelyn Dart.=20

Hi Claus, Soeren,

I agree to Soeren, I got the similar problem with roles. I have done =
for
this a dummy-method running in background producing a temp.error for
x-times. This is a varinet where the process is not running =
permanently,
specially useful for longer wait times. I need this for waiting for =
archived
images where the archive system is decentral and linked with 'small' =
lines.

regards

Heinz

Hi Claus
=20
I had the same problem recently:=20
Workflow failed due to role resolution, but simulation worked - and =
since
the workflow restarts without any error handling at all, I regarded =
this as
a synchronization problem, where the data used for the role is not =
available
at runtime.=20
I solved it by including a wait step in my workflow - where I coded a =
method
which will do nothing but wait for 30 sec and continue. This solved the
problem, but I wonder if anybody got a better solution!?

        Hi.
=09
In a new workflow, I use a self-defined standard role of type
responsibilities, with Plant and MRP-controller as container
elements.
Simulating the role works fine, but in the workflow I get this
error:
=09
Workflow no. 4462 step 129: Error or exception resolving role
'AC90000001'
=09
            Message no. WL 423
=09
        Diagnosis
=09
The role function module for role 'AC90000001' initialized =
an
exception
and returned a message ("MESSAGE ... [RAISING ...]").
=09
=09
If I then run transaktion SWPR (Restart After Error) the =
workflow
continue
and finds the right user. Binding seems to be OK. Release is =
4.6C
=09
Any ideas ? - thanks in advance.
