BAPI's in methods

Hi Stephen, there is a commit bapi you can =
call(bapi_transaction_commit), or use the commit command after you are =
finished running your update Bapi.

I was looking at standard SAP business objects where the method is a =
BAPI.
 
My understanding is that a BAPI can't carry out the commit, so where is =
it
carried out ?
