Hi Ken:

The problem maybe that your workflow background id does not have address
management maintained.
Using Tx SO12, make sure that address management is maintained for your
background sending id, ie your WF-BATCH id.
At the minimum you must specify communication type RML (remote mail ) .
If you are sending it to an external email address, you also need to
specify communication type = INT in the other communication tab and specify
an internet address

Subject: Error with Workflow and task: Send Mail

Hello Workflow'rs,

I am stumped on a simple workflow to send mail after an event. After
looking at
the log steps the error description is stated below.....

Work item 000004718242: Object CPRCL220 SELFITEM 000004718242 method
SENDTASKDESCRIPTION cannot be executed
Message no. WL 821

Diagnosis
The call of the object methods for the work item ended with a return code
for
which there is no handling defined in the workflow. This is regarded as an
error
by the work item manager (WIM).

System Response
The work item was set to error status, the return values from the object
method
were saved.

Procedure
Check the saved return values of the object method. In particular, check
whether

an application (ERRORCODE = 1) or
a system error (ERRORCODE = 2) is involved.
In the case of an application error, please check your workflow definition
and
the implementation of your object methods.

In the case of a system error, please contact your workflow system
administrator. In this case also check whether there is an error in the
binding
definition between task and method.

Thanks for your assistance!
 Ken
