ESS workflow

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but we did something similar =
where I work.  We coded the user exit to popup an approver window =
whereby the user can select the approvers id from a dropdown.  The =
userid's you see in the popup are restricted by a specific role.  Once =
the user id is selected, then the approver's id along with the  =
employee's id are sent to the workflow container, and a custom event is =
triggered with a function call.  This was first coded and working in =
R/3, then when we installed workplace/ESS, everything translated =
perfectly to the web front-end.

I need to modify a working workflow that when a user saves an expenses
claim, a pop-up window is to appears with the approver's name, allowing =

When ESS is installed will this pop-up still appear to the users or do I

The current workflow is triggered by the expense claim save. For the
pop-up, i have the user exit I need, but this pop-up is going to happen
before my workflow is triggered so the approval agent is not yet known, =
how
should i change things so that the approval agent is known for the =
pop-up,
i.e. should I trigger the workflow from an event coded within the user =
exit
and then the changes from the pop-up can be re-input to the container?
