No administrator for task

Workflow collegues,
 
I receive the following error when trying to start a workitem 'No
administrator found for task'. At first this workitem could not be
started, because the possible agents were not defined (error resolving
role). Next I added the possible agents and it works for new started
workflows. But for the workitem in the workflow that was in error the
error described still occurs. Does someone know what is the problem?
