BWSP, Portals and MSS - Can I call iViews from BWSP?

Hi Cristiana,
Well UWL needs portals but I assume you already have that due to MSS.
Creating attachments and forwarding work items has always been there - you need
to go down to the work item display using the spectacles button and they are all there.
Just a few clicks away.

Thanks Jocelyn.

How big are the implications of changing the inbox on a Production
environment?

You mentioned that it is possible to create attachments and forward work
items, but we need to show the users how. The reason why we decided not to
use Universal Worklist was because it lacked these functionalities. Are
you saying that these are now included in Universal Worklist? How 'tricky'
it is to create attachments and forward work items?

There is any other way to achieve what I need without changing the inbox?

Much thanks

Cristiana

Cristiana,
If you want iviews use the universal worklist iview or the SAPGUI for
Windows
inbox.
You can create attachments to the workflow and forward work items using
the universal work list.
You just need to show the users how.
If you have additional requirements for universal work list PLEASE report
this to OSS.

Subject: BWSP, Portals and MSS - Can I call iViews from BWSP?

G'day all,

we are live (4.6c) and using Enterprise Portals 5.0.

We are using the old, standard web inbox (tx BWSP) to view and process
work items through the portal. We are not using the Universal Worklist
because the users needed to be able to create attachments to the workflow
and to forward work items.

We are starting Phase 2 of the project and there is a lot of functionality
being added that will be executed within MSS, driven by Workflow (e.g.
Appraisals, Induction & Probation, etc).

I am not sure what will work and what will NOT working when using MSS.

For example, one of the workflows will be triggered when it is time to
perfom an Appraisal (based on Infotype 0019); so the manager will receive
an User Decision with a button to 'Create Appraisal'. By pressing the
button the Manager will be taken to the Create Appraisal 'screen'. I mean,
the 'screen' is not a transaction code as it would be if I was in R/3!
What sort of coding my method will have to use to call the iView that will
be built in the MSS to create appraisals? Will I have to call an URL? Is
it possible to call an iView from BWSP? What will happen once the
Appraisal has been created (in the iView), will the Workflow regain
control and continue executing the next tasks?

I am really confused with this subject... : (

Any directions on that matter will be very welcome! Is there any
documentation available on this subject?

Much thanks and regards

Cristiana
