HI Jocelyn.

The user WF-BATCH has no email-adress in the productive system. But in
development system he also has none.
And in this system it works without problems.
You are right: The error message is based on SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION.
The mail should be received by an org. unit (internal mail), so i do not
have to check SOST.
And i tried to send a normal mail from my account to my partner. This works
also very well.
So i don't know what's the problem!

Regards.

Hi Werner,
I take it you are getting errors on "send mail" steps - i.e. where
the underlying task is based on SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION?

The error is probably nothing to do with WF-BATCH but means there is a
problem sending the mail itself.

A couple of things to check:
* When a mail is sent it needs a "Sender" address - make sure WF-BATCH has
a valid internet email address in the user master so that it has a valid
sender address.
* Check your SAPConnect functionality is all working fine - the easiest way
is to
send an ordinary mail yourself e.g. using menu System > Short message from
any screen.
* All the mail errors appear in transaction SOST - you can use this to see
if the mail
was sent at all and what happened to it.

Usually you get this sort of problem when either there is no valid sender
address, the
recipient address is invalid, or there's something wrong with your
SAPConnect set up that
sends the mail to the server, or the mail server itself is returning errors.

Subject: Send a workflow-mail: error

Hi,

we produced a workflow in our development system.
We checked it completely so that no failure stayed in our workflow.
But after the transport of the workflow into the productive system,
the workflow stops with an error when he should send a mail.
In the development system the workflow is always sending the mail without
any problem.

But in the productive system an error occurs while sending the mail.
When i look at the technical protokoll i can see the mail-workitem with a
red light in front.
When i drop down the mail-workitem, there are three points:
- Background workitem is set up (green light), user: me
- Execution started automatically (green light), user: me
- SWW_BI_EXECUTE_S (red light), user: WF-BATCH

The Workflow is the same as in the development system, also the tasks,
but after the transport i get this error ???

Thanks very much !!!!!
