R: Processing tasks outside SAP

Folks,=20
Just be aware that there is a standard solution to this sort of problem
that has been developed for EBP 3.0 but works (with a little =
development
effort currently) in other SAP systems as well down to R/3 3.1I. This =
is a variant of=20
the RSWUWFML email notification of outstanding work items that permits
a user to send an offline email reply. I have recently been working =
with a
customer who has put this approach in place against an R/3 4.6C system. =

A simpler approach is simply to use the current RSWUWFML but include
either a hyperlink (if you have web access to the work item e.g. via=20
a portal, workplace, or even just the ITS web inbox) or even an=20
SAP shortcut can be attached with a little work. =20

Bonus of these approaches is that they are not groupware specific so
they work with multiple groupware.=20

Discussed in the book (of course) - also in the EBP SAP Library help =
which you=20
can find on help.sap.com if you don't have access to an EBP system=20
yourself.=20

And also remember that there is a LEGAL requirement to have an SAP =
userid
for each person that executes a work item - even if they do it via =
email
only. (Note these can be limited access users - much cheaper than the =
normal
licence). Make sure you don't breach your SAP Licensing agreement by=20
using generic user ids for limited access users.=20

Hello MariaLuisa, Alon, et al,

Alon is correct in not distributing more information on his solution
through this forum. It is sufficient for all to know he has a =
solution,
and to contact him if interested.=20

This forum is not for marketing, sales, or solicitation purposes. It =
is
intended for workflow developers to exchange questions and ideas.=20
However, we must draw the line somewhere, or all of the subscribers =
will
be receiving messages regarding new products to make our lives easier,
and workflow consultants who are now available, and who knows what
else. For that reason, I applaud Alon in his restraint. And I
appreciate others who adhere to the guidelines of this list.

I encourage you all to feel free to use private email addresses for
messages that fall outside the scope of this list.

Regards,
Sue
