We have just done it on my project in Birmingham... when you go
through
SAP's workflow academy, they tell you that GroupWise is MAPI-compliant.
 In
a way, that's true, and in a way, it isn't.

GroupWise requires a middleware called TOPCALL to make it
MAPI-compliant.
If your client is anything like mine and is thinking of upgrading to
Outlook or Notes, it's probably not a good idea to make the purchase.

Your other option is to use the standard program RSWUWFML and set it up
on
a batch schedule to send notifications to users email addresses that
they
have new work items. All they will get in GroupWise is an email - not
a
work item. They will have to actually log in to SAP and go into their
Business Workplace to execute their items. Any users wanting to have
this
automatic notification in GroupWise will need to have automatic
forwarding
set up (transaction SO36). This is probably your better bet.

Hope that helps -
Abby :)

Has anyone integrated Novell Groupwise with Workflow? We here at the
Unicity project in Cape Town have a requirement to do this, but are
not
sure how to go about it, how much work is involved etc. I have heard
that integration with Microsoft Outlook, for example, is
straightforward.

I did get the OSS note no. 131795 : E-mail notification of Workflow
items, which includes a large amount of ABAP code, but this seems to
be
a generic 'fix'.

We would greatly appreciate any help/comment on this!

Regards,
Frank Eriksen-Miller
