Role based on responsibilities

Hi Joanna,

I am afraid the scenario you have suggested is not possible since the tas=
k is defined as a general task. That means any agent determined by the ru=
le would have been OK.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Amit,
I think Tomasz was referring to OSS note 529567 (valid for 46b - 46d)
(which you may want to look at, to see if it's applied yet):
An agent rule is being used for determining the agents of a step. The age=
nt
rule used has the 'Termination with rule resolution without result'
attribute. At runtime, the agent rule determines an agent that does not
belong to the possible agents of the task. The work item is now sent to a=
ll
possible agents of the task. The required behavior is: The work item and
with it the workflow also get the 'ERROR' status.

Also, please check 'excluded agents' to make sure it's not =3D 'possible
agents'.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Tomasz,

I'm trying to go alpng wioth your theory but one thing troubles me - my
task IS defined as a general task but only those users who are linked
inside the role to one (or more) responsibilities get the work item. In
addition, I've checked in the workflow log (is that the right place?) and
the binding to the role looks OK.

Any other thought?

thanks for the help,

Amit

A dumb question: are you sure you pass the data to the role correctly? Wh=
at
I could see as one possibility is that:

- no data is passed,
- the agent determination procedure (=3Drole) finds no agent, fails silen=
tly
- workflow assumes all allowed agents, including all those specified in
responsibilities
- you've checked these who were assigned and all of them got the item
- (if your task were "general", so would all other users...)

It happened to me once :-)

Subject: Role based on responsibilities

Hi all,

I have a problem with roles based on responsibilities. It seems that
although the simulation for these roles works fine, on runtime the role
selects all the users related to any responsibility inside it as an agent
(i.e. it is as though all the responsibilities turn out valid altohugh th=
ey
are mutualy exclusive!).

Has anyone encountered such a problem? what can I do to find out the
reason?
is there any debugging i can do?

Please help,

Amit
