How do you get an object to appear as an attachement to tasks /use r decisions?

Hi Roger,
Any inbox other than SBWP necessarily implies some level of simplification.

Each inbox has a defined audience. SBWP users are assumed to have the highest
training/skill levels as they are used to working with SAPGUI.
Web users are assumed to have lesser training/skill levels as they are
working in a usually simplified web environment.

The book explains a lot of the differences between the inboxes.
The web inbox BWSP does not support and was never intended to support
all features in SBWP.

The same can be said of the workflow miniapp and every other inbox
out there other than SBWP.

Don't forget you can always create your own inbox and SAP provides
a number of WAPIs to help you do this.

Alternatively if you believe your users can cope with the more sophisticated
SBWP inbox, you can use SAPGUI for HTML to run SBWP in the web.

Hope that helps.

Many thanks to all for your suggestions.
It now appears within the SBWP Inbox as an object/attachment.

Is it a fundamental design of the Web Inbox (Internet Service BWSP) that the
objects don't appear on there?
(even though they do on SBWP)

Thanks.

Roger.

Hi Cliffe,
To confirm that the object reference is correct:
Try using the technical workflow log to check the container contents to see
if the
object reference is formulated correctly - you should be able to
double-click on
it and see the contents of the object. You should also be able to go to the
objects section of the workflow log (technical or activex view), click on
the object link and
be taken to the appropriate display transaction.

If the object link is wrong it won't show when you execute the workitem.
User decisions literally display all object references in the container
(apart
from the work item object itself) as object links. So you can use your
own container element or _adhoc_objects - either is fine so long as your
object
reference is corrrect.

Thanks for your suggestion Parag.

Have added the object to the task container (with input/output set, but not
mandatory or multiline) and entered the object in the binding between the
task container and the workflow container, but still it doesn't appear in
the list of objects/attachments when you execute the user decision. Am
obviously missing something, but don't know what.

The object is definitely available in the workflow container since I use it
elsewhere for determining roles.

Don't know if it makes any difference but am using SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT
(with the basic parameters of object/event/object key) to create the
triggering event, rather than SWE_EVENT_CREATE which seems to be used
elsewhere. Do you need to add something or set some parameter at the
triggering event stage in order for it to appear in the tasks within the
workflow?

Roger.

Hi Roger,

Create the container for the object in the decision task (custom task).
Bind object in WF definition with the workflow container.

Default method of the object will be executed when clicked.

Cheers!
