Diane,

- If the function modules you're using in the role are coded by your
company, have them extended to pass the administrator / process controller
if no "normal" agent is found.

- If they're standard SAP, provide "wrapper" function modules that would run
the standard role, check if agents were found, and then:
x return those agents (if found)
x return the administrator / process controller (if not found)
and use them in a role

As usual with workflow, the "In some cases..." issue needs to be checked
separately. In general, when you run agent determination for an item you're
already pretty sure you want the item to be sent. You can always branch into
a certain workflow variant, but again -- the exact circumstances would need
to be clarified.

Kind regards,
Tomasz

Subject: Results of NO Agent found

Good afternoon all. I have created a general task, (only because I had to
due to lack of knowing agents and the number of possible agents being very
large ). My problem, I want to ensure that we don't send the task to all
users if no agent is found. I am using roles with function modules to
determine agents based on data fields that end-users are populating. What
is the best way to handle no agent found results. I would like the work
item to go to the system admin or process controller without erroring out.
In some cases I would also like the workflow to not send an email at all.
Any suggestions!!!!
