Info on SWWERRE

Hi Elisabeth, Jocelyn,

I must be crazy to change an advice of an expert like Jocelyn, but I think
there were some transactions mixed up...

You should run transaction SWWD to shedule the retry of background workitems
in a temporary error status. Note that the retry counter can be overruled in
your workflow (look into the relevant workitem at the others tab).

However, the workitem will remain in a status STARTED so long as it is still
relevant for a retry. After the last retry, the work-item will come in a
status COMPLETED if the outcome is modeled correctly in the workflow. If it
is not modeled, then the WI will get into a status ERROR.

Bottom line: I don't think the SWWERRE job will pick up your work-item.

At least, I thought it worked like that. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Regards, Raf

Hi Elizabeth,
Yes SWWERRE needs to be scheduled to run in the production system.
You can control the number of retry attempts and frequency of job
via transactions SWWA/SWWB.

Yes it restarts work items in error up to a maximum number of retries.
After that it is reported to the workflow administrator.
Your one year old item should not be still restarting - you might want
to
check your settings and report this to OSS.

However, if the work item is one year old and still in ERROR it
might perhaps be an idea to either fix the problem or logically
delete the work item it if it is no longer required.

Subject: Info on SWWERRE

Hello all,

I need some information on the job SWWERRE. Should it be scheduled to
run in
the production system?

Should it attempt to restart workitems with a status of ERROR?

I'm getting an error (WL 394) repeatedly for a workitem which is over a
year
old and has a status of ERROR.

I'd be grateful for any info at all.

Elizabeth
