Hello WF-ers,

Periodically, you will see a message from someone wishing to sign off
from SAP-WUG. In order to prevent these messages from being distributed
to the entire list, I thought it would be a good time to refresh our
collective memories.

When you send mail to SAP-WUG, you are not executing any sort of
subscription management command. You are distributing your message to
all of the subscribers. Technically, sending a command of 'SIGNOFF
SAP-WUG' to the email address SAP-WUG at mitvma.mit.edu will do nothing for
you, except notify everyone on the list that you wish to sign off. When
the poor overworked list administrator sees these messages, they take
several manual steps in order to accomodate the person trying to sign
off.

The correct way to sign off from the list, is to send mail to
LISTSERV at MITVMA.MIT.EDU, and in the body of the mail, type the command

SIGNOFF SAP-WUG

This mail will not be distributed to all the subscribers, and should
automatically delete your subscription from the list. If you are not
able to sign off in this way, please send email to SAP-WUG-request.

I encourage you all to visit the Listserv web site to familiarize
yourself with the features of using the product. The URL is
http://www.lsoft.com/manuals/1.8d/userindex.html

Best Regards,
Sue
