No Workflow Information in Log SWI2_FREQ

Meagan,
If the workflow has started at all there will be a workflow log.
Try just using dates/times only with SWI1 to identify it.
 
If the users can give you the shopping cart number you could also
use that to find any related work items.  There's a report I wrote up in an
OSS note that helps you to find them - look for Z_BASKET_LINKS  or
Z_CART_LINKS in OSS and you should find it.
 
If the workflow has NOT started, e.g. due to severe errors during the
workflow creation, you may find an error message in transaction SM58.
 
Apart from that if it keeps happening you'll probably need to get
some SAP consulting help to sort it out.

I checked SWI1 and I still cannot find a log for the workitems in question.
I used the WS workflow number for our custom workflow. I am not overly
familiar with the workflow transactions. I like SWI2_FREQ because it lists
the agent with the workitem text but I am happy to learn more about it.
 
It is a mystery that I cannot find a log but it has not happened again for
several days now.  I appreciate any more suggestions!

Hi Megan,
Try using transaction SWI1 rather than SWI2_FREQ.
SWI1 lets you see view all work items and workflow logs, and
defaults to viewing approx the last hour's workflow activity.
 
SWI2_FREQ is more for comparing process times so that might be
why you are having difficulties identifying the logs.  Or possibly
you have entered the workflow number incorrectly??? (It needs
the appropriate WS or TS code in front, e.g. WS90000001 if your
workflow is number 90000001).
 
A custom workflow will always have a workflow log just like a standard
workflow.

Hello all,
 
We have a custom workflow in EBP modeled after the standard for business
object 2121 which routes workitems to managers based on the user's position
in the HR organization structure. Occasionally (6 out of 1000+ shopping
carts) have routed incorrectly. Users have reported the workitems and can
identify the cart and cart number, however, there is no workflow log in
SWI2_FREQ.
 
Has anyone encountered a similar workflow issue where a workitem is routed
without a log generated in this transaction? I am more functional than
technical in my experience so please help!
