EARLY Archive Workflow SAP 4.0B

Can anyone help with this:
 
We have developed an Early Archive scenario in 4.6C, where an ABAP prog=
ram
reads
data from a Kofax interface,  stores these in a temporary table,  and
creates a work item.
When the work-item is executed, a work-flow exit will fetch the temp da=
ta
and populate
a SAP business transaction with the values.
 
 
Question: is it possible to develop a process like this also in SAP 4.0=
B.
