Exclude weekends on deadline monitoring

Dear colleagues,
 
I guess someone has asked this question before.
In my WF step, I have a deadline monitoring which works fine except that weekends are also included in the number of days for deadline monitoring.
How can I exclude weekends in my deadline monitoring ? Is this a configuration issue or should I develop a code to do that ?
