workflow for creating new material

Dear WF experts,
 
I am looking into developing a workflow for the creation of new material
process. The general idea is that different people would create different
views for the material at different steps of the workflow.
Started by looking at methods for business object BUS1001, where I see that
the following methods:
Create
GetMissedViews
CreateViews
have an 'obselete' status.
Does that mean I can't use these methods ? Do I need to create a new method
?
 
Any other information regarding this kind of workflow would be much
appreciated !
 
The R3 release is 4.6c.
