Number of workitems in inbox?

Try transaction SWI5 - Workload Analysis (this is available in 4.6B - I
don't know what other versions.)
 
It is a bit quirky, so experiment with the different select-options.

Is there a report, transaction, or something else that can
give me information about how many workitems the users have
in their inbox (without actually logon each user)?
