Triggering Events

Hello!!
 
What happens events triggered which are not yet linked to to a workflow? We
are in the process of designing a new workflow. The ABAP program which
triggers the event is ready for test but the workflow definition is not yet
complete.
 
Are there consequences for  archiving ?
 
We are on version 3.1H.
