Hi Wayne,
Have you checked that your system is configured to allow sending of emails
to HR organisational objects?
Try transaction SO16, Addresing tab, "Following addresses can also be
selected", and make sure
"Organizational units" is on.
Also check your container at runtime through the work item display,
technical view - make sure that the position is in HR format, e.g. "S
5999999".

Subject: Send mail to a position

Hi all,
We are on 46B. I have been trying to send a mail message to a position using
SELFITEM/SENDTASKDECSRIPTION manually and using the wizard. In the binding,
I use for example ( S 50000620 ) type G. This does not seem to work, and the
error message I get is WL 821 ( Work item XXXX: Object XXXX Selfitem XXXX
method Sendtaskdescription cannot be executed. )
I have tried sending this to a UserID and it works.
Any input would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Wayne Hanrahan.
