Is it possible to send an attached document created in a previous step via "send mail"

I have a wokflow which creates a word document from a template. then
depending on a user descision
i want to send the document to the  workflow initiator.  Is this possible
using the standard send mail method.
If Not is there another way.
 
As i have only being using workflow for a few week any help would be
greatly appreciated
