After I grouped the work items in the inbox by task I was able to see the
correct column headings.  Thanks a bunch.

Darlen,
       You need to create a view in your inbox and put
a filter in that view  so it can displays workitem
only for the same task . Once it is done then refresh
the view  it displays dynamic columns titles. Make
sure that whatever filter you put it should bring the
workitems for the same task. I had done this for many
places and it works fine.
