event for creation (posting) of Material Document (say goods rece ipts)

There is no need to use User Exits in this instance as you can do event
triggering for any goods movements or material documents through settings in
Inventory Management Output Determination. Rather than getting the
application to print you get the application to trigger an event.

First of all create a condition table
Then Create an access sequence
Then Create an Output Type which is set to trigger an event, insert
program RSWEMC01 Form CREATE_EVENT in the correct fields.
Maintain your output procedures
Maintain your conditions using your output type and when you press the
communication button you'll get a screen to enter an object and method

There used to be a wizard to set this up in 3.1h but it no longer seems to
be there (probably as it didn't work too well). You can of course make all
the settings manaually which take a bit of fiddling to get right, but once
this is set up it works very reliably.

Hi Daniel/Andre,
Or better still, in the user exit call "SWE_EVENT_CREATE_FOR_UPD_TASK".
This will add the appropriate event creation call to the current LUW.

Benefits being:

1. You don't need to call it asynchronously or put in
the commit work statement, as it will be committed with the rest of
the material documentation, and of course rolled back if someone cancels
out of the transaction.

2. As your document won't actually exist in the database until the LUW
is run, this will help ensure that the object exists when the event is
raised
(otherwise the event linkage will fail).
You might want to start it with a small delay to doubly ensure this (as
you
are
working with a user exit you won't have full control over the order in
which the database updates are made).

Hi Daniel

there are user exits you can use for that.
I would go through the User exits with
a functional MM consultant and find the
right one.

In that User exit you will call the swe_event_create function.
You need to do a commit work after the function.
Make sure you are calling that function asynchronously
You can not use that commit work statement directly
in the user Exit. This would cause all kinds of problems
with open Database Commits.
