IS-U/CCS: Object Method Returns Multi-Line Container

Hello Fellow  IS-U / Workflow'ers.
 
I encounted the following issue today on our 4.6 system.
 
Object Method MOVEINOUT.CREATEMOVEIN used to (4.0b) return a single line
container with the premise that was used in the move-in document.
 
In 4.6c, this same method now returns a  multiline container item (which I
presume only includes a single value) for the premise container. This
multiline container now clashes with task and workflow containers  where it
is used, that were defined as single line containers.
 
Question:
 
Does anyone know of any good reason for such a change on a method that can
only work on a single object at a time ??  All the other parameters coming
out of that method are single-line items.
 
Also, does anyone know of a way to perform a container operation on a
multiline item ?? Or an object method to do this ??  i.e. extract the first
(and only) entry from the multiline container...
