Error Msg-You are not one of the possible agents of the task.

Hi Diane, Kjetil,
It is not connected to the object services but it is the root of the
problem. The user calling the SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW is almost certainly
not assigned to the workflow task so this user does not have the
authorization to start it, even if this is a batch user. Maybe this user was
changed when you upgraded.

You are absolutely right to use the SAP_WAPI call to start the workflow. We
go to great lengths to make the WAPI calls upwardly compatible but there are
occasions where the environment and customizing plays a role. I hope you'll
agree that the error message is a pretty good description of the problem you
are having and the direction to take to solve it.

Could this be connected to the new thing "Start workflow" which is available
in
object services? We don't use it, but if I remember correctly from TAWF10
you
will only be able to start those workflows of which you are a possible
agent.
This sounds logical enough, if you can not execute a workflow you should not
be
able to start it either.

Is it possible for you to trigger an event instead and pick that up? That is
my
preferred method of interfering. (Despite Achim, the teacher I had at
TAWF10,
telling me that it causes unnecessary overhead due to the extra function
calls
involved.)

Yes, we have done all that. I can test it ok. The workflow is ok. It is
the function module. The test of the function module comes back with the
error. It will not even trigger the workflow, because it gets a return code
of 2, which gives the message "You are not one of the possible agents of the
task." The function module is looking for something we don't have. WS
template is a general task.

Diane,

Go to SWUS, key in your template (ex WS) and click on refresh org
environment. Can you start
the Workflow from here?
