Subject: General Status Management
Hi All,
Would be grateful for input on the following:
I am currently working on the development of an interface into SAP, where a
goods receipt is created. Once the goods receipt is successfully created
via posting of an IDoc, I wish to carry out further processing within SAP
(within an ABAP function module).
So, after a goods receipt movement (MB1C) is posted within SAP, I want to
trigger a simple (single-step) workflow that executes an ABAP function
module/program.
In order to trigger the workflow, a system status needs to be set (eg.
"goods movement posted"), in order to link it with the event of a
business object, resulting in the triggering of the workflow. A system
status is an indicator set by the system, documenting the current status
of an object.
I have identified a system status of "IO321 - GPMS - Goods Movement
Posted" within SAP and within transaction BSVX (Tools -> Business
Workflow -> Development -> Definition Tools -> Events -> Event Creation
-> Status Management) this system status can be linked to an object's
event. However, I cannot find a status object type that can be used for
this business object (BUS2017 - Goods Movement). A status object type
groups objects that are handled in a similar way within General Status
Management. Eg. Status Object Type ORI groups together Maintenance
Orders, Production Orders, Service Orders etc.
Any help/advise on Goods Movement statuses and working with status
object types would be greatly appreciated ! Can I actually do this using
workflow ?!
Thanks in advance for your time,
